The Community Centre provides the perfect venue for your function
The Community Association, a self funding, Registered Charity is managed by an elected Board of 6 Trustees, three of which are local Ward Councillors elected by The London Borough of Hillingdon and three are elected from the membership, all are all volunteers. For the daily running of the Community Centre the Association employs a full time manager and two part time administrators.
It was set up in 1949 by Oscar Frey, owner of the Anglo-Swiss Screw Company, in a room in his factory in Yiewsley.
Today it has two main halls, the Oscar Frey and the Cyril Boatman (both named after the two most prominent figures from the original Association), a Snooker Room, and a Members' Bar. There are also two meeting rooms available for hire downstairs which can accommodate 20 people. There is a 44 space car park to the rear of the building.
June 2017 saw 50 years since the Community Centre was officially opened by Lord Beswick MP in memory of Oscar Frey the original founder. The original plaque was rehung and rededicated by the Mayor.
The Centre is ideal for Wedding receptions and parties; for meetings and for local groups to hire. The main Oscar Frey Hall has a large raised stage equipped with lighting and sound, ideal for concerts, shows and amateur dramatics.
We hire out our two main halls for functions on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. We also have two meeting rooms available for hire 7 days a week.Read more
